New Land Rover Concept at Frankfurt – Project Icon lives?

New Land Rover Defender Concept expected at Frankfurt Last week AE ran a report that suggested Land Rover were considering dumping the iconic Defender from their range as it was perhaps too difficult to find a cost-effective way to update it. Which we didn’t buy for a minute. As far as we can see, the Land Rover Defender is so iconic that Tata would have to find a way to keep it viable and in production even if they lost money on every Defender they built.

Last month I returned from my second consecutive Nurburgring 24hr race, so I was excited to be getting my first taste of Le Mans last weekend. Two very similar concepts, yet the endurance races at the Ring and Le Mans differ hugely, and both excite for very different reasons. 2012 Porsche Boxster revealed The 2012 Porsche Boxster has been revealed with a new lightweight body, revised chassis and engines – and looking much the same as the old Boxster. The 2012 Porsche Boxster (or, as always, if you’re on the other side of the Pond, the 2013 Porsche Boxster) has been revealed, not at the Detroit Auto Show, but, just as Audi did yesterday with the A6 Allroad, as a diversion from the car antics in North America. Looking, as you would expect from Porsche, little different to the current Boxster, the new Porsche Boxster does however get a thorough makeover of body, engines and chassis to make the new Boxster fit to fight for another decade (or so).
